These are the most accurate repeater hunting actions on the market. They are manufactured to true benchrest tolerances and yet are made to be reliable in the field. Alpine Actions fit stocks inletted for Remington 700 short actions (Repeater action weighs 26 1/2 oz) Timberline Actions fit stocks inletted for Remington 700 Long actions (Repeater action weighs 28 1/2 ounces) A Magnum version of each requires lengthening port opening in stock.

Ring and base combinations made for Remington 700 actions will not work on Borden Alpine or Borden Timberline actions. The screw holes in our actions are 8×40 and are spaced .860 apart. The rear bridge is the same height as front receiver ring thereby eliminating the possibility of using bases made for the Remington 721/722/700 family of actions. Here are some options for Rings and bases we have available:
  • Talley style bases made of 7050 Aluminum

  • Talley unitized rings made for our actions. These rings do not utilize bases and are made specifically for our actions so that the foot of the ring fits within the scallops on the action.

  • Hawkins Engineering Long Range Unitized 30MM medium rings with built in 25 MOA and built in level

  • 1 piece Picatinny rails in neutral or 20MOA ramp made of aluminum or black oxide colored chrome moly steel.

  • Holland Shooting Supply Picatinny two piece stainless steel bases (neutral)(Available from Holland)

Borden Rimrock BR actions are perfect for LV Benchrest, Unlimited Benchrest, 600/1000 Yard Light and Heavy Gun Benchrest as well as FTR Rifles. The action is quick operating as it has the “bolt throw” of a Remington XP100. It is about 7 3/8 inches in overall length. The action is 1.350 in diameter and is made of hardened 416 Stainless Steel. The bolt body is hardened 4142 steel and is spiral fluted. The action with single port setup with no recoil lug for glue in weighs 30.25 ounces. Borden Rimrock B actions were specifically designed for LV benchrest rifles. The Rimrock BR action is light and works well for the LV rifles but we found many competitors wanted the standard Remington Short action “bolt throw”. The Rimrock BRM tends to be too heavy for LV benchrest so we modifed the BRM design to result in a lighter action that maintains the bolt throw of a Remington 700 short action. We bobbed the tang from 2.250 inches long to 1.8 inches long and we opened the loading port to 3.0 inches long. These changes reduced the weight to make the B action perfect for building the Light Varmint benchrest rifles. The action is 1.350 in diameter and is made of hardened 416 Stainless Steel. The bolt body is hardened 4142 steel and is spiral fluted. The action with dual port setup (6.5×284 Win length ejection port) with no recoil lug for glue in weighs 31 ounces. The action with single port setup with no recoil lug for glue in weighs 36 ounces. Action with left or right loading port and left or right 6.5×284 miniport weighs 35 ounces. The action is available with PPC/BR/308 boltface or the standard magnum boltface. It is available as Right Bolt Right Port, Right Bolt Left Port, Left Bolt Left Port, Left Bolt Right Port, Right Bolt Left Port Right Eject, Left Bolt Right Port Left Eject. There is one size of ejection ports. The mini port is designed to be large enough and long enough to eject empty 30-06 cases. The action comes standard with a cylindrically ground finish. Borden Rimrock LSR actions are made to fit the stock inletting done for Remington 700 Long Actions. The action is precision made and features the Borden Bumps to ensure firm lock up of both lugs to the lug seats in the action. The Timberline and Alpine line of actions already have bolts that have less clearance than any others in the industry and the Rimrock line of actions have even tighter specifications. the fit between the bolt and the action raceway hole is less than 0.001 inch at the rear receiver bridge while the remainder of teh bolt has clearance of less than 0.002 inch. The action body is made of 416 Stainless Steel hardened to 40 Rc and features a chrome moly bolt hardened to 44Rc. The bolt is spiral fluted and utilizes eitehr a Sako style or an M16 style extractor. The action is available as a single shot or as a repeater. the repeater version offers the choice of a Stand Remington Magazine well opening, The Remington Ultra Mag family magazine well opening, the Wyatt Standard magazine well opening (perfect for cartridges such as the 7 STW, and 300 weatherby) and the Wyatt Ultra Mag magazine well opening. The two Wyatt length mag wells offer bullet seating 0.115 inch longer than can be obtained in Remington magazine wells. The action is available with 30-06, standard magnum or Dakota bolt faces. It is available Right Bolt Right port, Left bolt left port, Right Bolt left port and Left Bolt Right Port. The action is also available with dual blind pinned 1/4 inch thick recoil lug. The action is milled and thread milled with four 8×40 scope block mounting holes. The holes are blind and are threaded completely to the bottom of the hole.
